Holly & Heather’s Helpful Hint: When Life Gives You Lemons….
Things happen. The weather dips (yes, last week it was four degrees in New York). You burn dinner. You face a disappointment. Lose your job. You get sick, really sick. How do you cope through the setbacks, the heartaches, the trying times?
Instead of turning your “lemons” into lemonade…how can you appreciate the lemon itself? Are there any positive things you can glean from your situation no matter how awful it may be? Has a trying time brought you closer to a friend or family member? Has a relationship that dissolved brought you some semblance of peace or closure?
Sometimes you just have to put one foot in front of the other. You work through it. You pray for the strength and keep going. Building a support system, even if it’s only one other person, is a must have. We all need that partner in crime; someone with whom we can literally trust with our lives. And we breathe. It seems simple but is so necessary. Focus and concentrate your attention on your breath. In and out. It helps more than you may think.
